Jing Lang, Founder, Filmmaker, Writer
This is how Be Brilliant Media came to be.
-
Jing came to Canada when she was 17.
Armed with a Type-A personality and a deep desire to “make it,” she chose to become an actuary because it checked all the boxes: respected profession, job security, and social status.
Over the next two decades, she built a solid insurance career — managed teams, ran sizable portfolios, held leadership roles. The paycheck, recognition, and prestige followed.
-
Inside though, she felt she was constantly conforming to societal image of “success.” She felt like an extra in her own movie.
In 2024, she launched the Be Brilliant with Jing Lang podcast—interviewing people at the top of their fields. What began as an experiment quickly became a turning point. She took a calculated risk and stepped away from corporate life to build something of her own.
-
Today, Jing works at the intersection of storytelling and strategy. Through filmmaking and consulting, she helps mission-driven organizations to amplify their impact —with communities, partners, and funders—and proving that impact deserves better storytelling.
